Chapter 7

Two weeks went by pretty fast in Lee’s opinion, and before she knew it, she was in Jinxx’s car on her way to her ultrasound appointment.

“Do I really have to, Jinxx?” Lee asked with a sigh when they arrived.

“Yes, Lee, you have to. I’ll tell you what, I’ll even stick with you the entire time,” Jinxx told her, trying to reassure her.

Lee put on a faint smile as she opened the passenger's door. Jinxx followed her in, silently reassuring her that evеrything would be okay.

“Have a seat, babе, let me do the paperwork and stuff,” Jinxx told Lee, gently brushing her hair behind her ear.

Jinxx walked up to the front desk to get Lee’s paperwork as Lee went to find a seat. After a few minutes, Jinxx walked over to where Lee was sitting, and began to fill her paperwork out.

Lee gently tapped Jinxx’s shoulder, causing him to look at her. She then grabbed Jinxx’s left hand, and placed it on her stomach.

“Do you feel that?” Lee asked with a smile on her face.

Jinxx nodded, “What is that?” he questioned back.

“You don’t know? Think, Jinxx. That’s the baby. The baby’s kicking,” Lee replied, her smile growing even wider, which caused Jinxx to smile.

A few minutes later, Jinxx was finished filling out all the papers, and was waiting for Lee to be called.

“Lee, the doctor will see you now,” a woman said. Jinxx got up first, and offered his hand to Lee to help her up.

Jinxx and Lee both followed the woman to a room with a strange bed, two chairs and a kind of television monitor. Other than that, the room was empty.

“Get comfortable ma’am. The doctor will be in here in a second,” the lady told Lee, motioning to the bed.

Lee nodded as she attempted to get on the bed after the woman left. With Jinxx’s help Lee finally managed to get on the bed, as Jinxx walked over to a chair in the corner.

“Are you okay, Lee?” Jinxx asked, looking up at Lee.

Lee looked over at Jinxx and simply nodded, “Yeah, babe. I’m fine. Just scared, that’s all.”

“Don’t be scared, Lee. You’ll be fine. I promise you,” Jinxx told her.

Just as Jinxx finished his sentence, a man walked in the room. He was very tall and thin, and had a very chiseled face.

“I presume you’re Lee,” the man said, “I’m Doctor Coma, and I am your new doctor. You should be seeing me again in a few months so we can determine the gender of your baby.”

Lee’s breathing grew unsteady, “S-so what’s this one for?” she asked, almost crying from fear.

Doctor Coma chuckled, “You don’t have to be afraid. This ultrasound is to let you see your baby, and to let me get a measurement and to check and see if it has a heartbeat. Would you like your husband to sit next to you? Would that help your fear a little?”

Lee nodded slowly as she motioned for Jinxx to sit next to her. Jinxx got up, and walked over to Lee. He wrapped his hands around Lee’s left hand as she sighed.

“So we at least got to see our child, right Doctor Coma?” Jinxx asked as he glanced up at Lee’s doctor.

Doctor Coma nodded, “Yes sir, you can see your child. We can tell gender on the next ultrasound in a few more months. Oh, if my name’s too hard to pronounce, you can call me Christian. Now, Lee, are you ready to see your baby?” Doctor Coma asked, turning his attention to Lee.

Lee exhaled slowly and looked over at Jinxx, “Do you want to, babe?”

Jinxx nodded, “I do,” he said before looking back up at Doctor Coma, “We’re ready, doctor.”

Doctor Coma nodded, and began instructing Lee on what to do.

“Alright, now Lee, this paste is going to feel very cold against your skin, but don’t worry. It’s supposed to be this cold,” Doctor Coma told her.

“What’s the paste supposed to do?” Jinxx asked, looking up at Lee, then her doctor.

“It’s supposed to show the unborn child better. To be honest, I have no clue how it works,” Christian replied with a laugh, “I am going to apply this now. Now Lee if you need me to stop, all you have to do is tell me, okay?”

Lee nodded as Christian began to apply the paste to her stomach. She gasped at how cold it was, and she gripped onto Jinxx’s hand. A few seconds later, the paste was finally applied completely.

Lee looked over at Jinxx, “Babe. Please tell me that all this won’t change the fact that you still love me. And tell me that this won’t change our wedding plains.”

Jinxx sighed, “I told you this weeks ago. I still love you. And I promise you, before our child is born, we’re going to get married. I promise.”

Christian cleared his throat which caused Lee to jump, “I hate to interrupt, but I can show you your child now.”

Lee looked over at Christian, “Sorry. How are you going to see the child?”

“With this,” he replied, holding up a strange tube, “This sends the video feed to the monitor behind me, and it allows you to see your baby.”

Lee smiled, “Okay. I’m ready.”

Doctor Coma smiled, “Alright. Lee, please try not to move much.”

Christian gently placed the tube on Lee’s stomach, and started gently moving it around, glancing back at the screen every now and then.

“There. I found it,” Doctor Coma said after a few minutes, “You both can look at the screen.”

Lee smiled, “Jinxx! Look, it’s your baby.”

Jinxx chuckled with a tear in his eye, “You mean our baby. It’s beautiful.”

After a few minutes, Christian was finished with everything he had to do, and was ready to send Lee and Jinxx on their way.

“Alright, your pictures will be sent to you shortly. Now Lee, I’m going to wipe the paste off. Okay?” Christian said, looking over at Lee.

Lee nodded as she gripped Jinxx’s hand again. A few seconds later, Christian was finished with cleaning the paste off, and was helping Lee off the bed.

“Thank you Doctor Coma. Now my fiancé can have a little peace in her life,” Jinxx told him, shaking Christian's hand.

Christian chuckled, “You’re welcome. I’m glad I was able to help. And Lee? I’ll see you in a few months.”

Lee gently nodded as Jinxx walked her out. Jinxx opened the passenger’s door for Lee as she slipped inside.

“So you finally got to meet your doctor. He seems to like you, Lee,” Jinxx told her as he started the car.

“I noticed that. But I love you, you, and only you. That won’t change,” Lee replied, gently kissing the side of Jinxx’s neck.

“Well at least we got to see our baby,” Jinxx told her as he started to drive home.

A few minutes later, Jinxx and Lee returned home. Lee walked over to the couch, and collapsed on it.

“Hey Jinxx?” Lee called from the couch.

“Yes, baby?” Jinxx asked from the kitchen.

“Can we have pizza tonight? I’m just in the mood for pizza,” Lee requested, sitting up on the couch.

Jinxx nodded as he pulled his phone out, and began to call the local pizza place.

After the order was placed, Jinxx sat down on the couch, “You know Lee,” he began, “I was thinking. Why spend thousands of dollars on a traditional wedding, where people are going to ask about your baby bump, when I can drive out to Vegas, and have us married in ten minutes.”

“Good point. Can we go, babe? Please?” Lee asked, laying over Jinxx’s lap.

Jinxx chuckled, “Sure. Go pack while I wait on dinner to arrive.”

Lee smiled as she leaned up to kiss Jinxx before rolling off the couch to go pack.

After a few minutes, Lee was finished packing, as she walked down the stairs, duffel bag in hand.

“Did you forget anything?” Jinxx asked with a chuckle when he saw Lee’s duffel bag.

“Only one thing,” Lee replied, opening the downstairs closet door. She then pulled out a medium sized black dress, and gently put in the bag, “It’s my wedding dress, Jinxx. Hot Topic had dresses on sale.”

Jinxx rolled his eyes, and went to answer the knock at the door. After he paid for the pizza, and they were both finished, Jinxx went to go shower and pack.
