Chapter 27

Finally arriving back home, Lee ran into the house, hoping to find Jayy and Lilith. Lee found Jayy sitting on one of the kitchen barstools, Lilith in his arms.

“Welcome back, Lee,” Jayy told his sister, a smile spreading across his face.

“Lilith,” Lee breathed out, “T-thank you for w-watching her, Jayy. W-where’s Jeffree?” Lee asked as Jayy handed her Lilith.

“Jeffree’s at work. He’s got to help pay my Ferrari off, Lee. Oh, Jinxx informed me about your stutter. Why didn’t you tell me? I would have helped you sooner,” Jayy told Lee, gently wrapping her in a hug.

Lee sighed and dropped her head, “I t-thought you w-would make fun of me. S-so I found a w-way t-to hidе it. But it’s gotten w-worse as I’ve gottеn older. I’m fine t-though, Jayy. T-trust me,” Lee replied as a single tear slid down her cheek.

A few seconds later, Jinxx walked into the house, threw his car keys on the table, and walked over to his wife and daughter. Seeing Lee gently crying, Jinxx wiped his wife’s tears away, hoping she would calm down. Lee gasped as Jinxx placed a gentle kiss on her neck, as she wasn’t aware Jinxx would do that.

“I’m sorry, but he had to know,” Jinxx whispered in Lee’s ear, “I know I should have told you, but it didn’t seem important.”

“It didn’t s-seem important?” Lee asked as she spun around to face Jinxx, “My s-stutter didn’t s-seem important? Jinxx, my s-stutter is important, and I cannot believe y-you t-told my brother,” Lee spat out at Jinxx.

Jayy grabbed Lee’s shoulder in an attempt to calm her down, “Lee calm down,” Jayy growled through clenched teeth.

Lee muttered a German profanity that Jinxx understood well under her breath and finally calmed down, “S-sorry, Jayy. And I guess I’m s-sorry t-too, Jinxx. I s-shouldn’t have s-said t-that,” Lee said, as she looked up at Jinxx.

“It’s okay, babe. Just promise me, don’t say that phrase again,” Jinxx replied. As soon as Jinxx finished his sentence, Jayy looked over at Jinxx with a confused look on his face.

“What’d she say? I’m not German, nor did I learn it,” Jayy asked as he unwrapped Lee from his hug.

Jinxx cleared his throat, “She said-”

“I s-said Verpiss dich,” Lee interrupted Jinxx, “And I’m not s-sorry for it either,” Lee said coldly.

After giving Jayy the translation to what Lee had said, Jinxx decided to make Lee a nice cup of tea, in hopes that she would calm down. Gently walking the cup of hot tea over to Lee, Jinxx sat down on the couch next to her.

“I made you your favorite,” Jinxx said as he gently handed Lee the cup of tea, “And I do suggest you drink it fast, baby. Russian Tea doesn’t taste too good cold,” Jinxx said with a laugh.

Lee sighed deeply as she took the first drink of the tea, “Just right, babe. T-thank you. I’m s-sorry I t-told you t-that. It w-was w-wrong of me t-to s-say that,” Lee told Jinxx as she finished her tea.

“It’s alright, sweetie. Don’t apologize. I understand, you were angry. Just please, for me, don’t say it again. Bad memories,” Jinxx replied as he placed a gentle kiss on Lee’s ear, then her neck.

Lee nodded as she leaned against Jinxx’s chest, Lilith in her arms. Jinxx placed a gentle kiss on Lee’s neck, her cheek, and then the top of her head.

“W-where did Jayy go?” Lee asked after a few minutes of silence.

“He went to pick Jeffree up from work. Jayy said he’d be back pretty soon,” Jinxx replied as he tried to get comfortable on the couch, Lee still in his arms. Lee nodded gently as she heard Jinxx exhale softly as he decided to take a nap after the long day.
