Chapter 20

The car ride home was quiet as it could be, as Lee tended to a very hungry Lilith, and Jinxx was thinking of a new way to surprise Lee.

Finally arriving at the house, Lee slowly slid out of the passenger’s seat, Lilith in her arms. Lee silently followed Jinxx to the door, waiting for him to unlock it.

“Jinxx, can you please hurry up? It’s cold out here,” Lee whined out, as Jinxx finally unlocked the door.

“It’s unlocked, Lee. How’d it go with your psychiatrist?” Jinxx asked, holding the door for Lee.

Lee faintly smiled at Jinxx as she walked through the door, “It was okay. Nothing very eventiful happened,” she replied, gеntly sitting down on the couch, Lilith still in her arms.

“It was just okay? Who is your psychiatrist anyway?” Jinxx asked, his еyebrow raising in question.

Lee nodded, “Yes, Jinxx, it was okay. To answer your other question, my old High School friend is my psychiatrist,” Lee replied, her attitude attempting to show again.

“Who?” Jinxx asked simply, “And you better watch your attitude, Lee. I’ve got another gift lined up for you, and I’m tempted to not give it to you because of your attitude,” Jinxx added, his voice growing very stern.

“His name is Andy, Andy Sixx. One of the only friends I had in school, I might add,” Lee replied, slowly calming down.

Jinxx nodded gently, and sat down on the couch next to Lee, “Alright. That’s all I wanted to know. Do you want your surprise now, baby?” Jinxx asked, wrapping his arms around Lee’s waist, and placing his chin gently on her shoulder.

“I do,” Lee replied, leaning against Jinxx, Lilith still in her arms.

“Follow me then,” Jinxx whispered in Lee’s ear, “You can put Lilith back in her crib,” he said, placing a gentle kiss on Lee’s ear, then her cheek, and then her neck.

Lee gently got up from the couch after Jinxx, and followed him to their bedroom. Gently placing a kiss onto Lilith’s head, Lee placed Lilith back in her crib. Jinxx extended his hand, wanting Lee to take it. As soon as she did, Jinxx led her to their bed, and gently laid her down.

“Here’s one suprise. You get your other gift a little bit later,” Jinxx told her. Lee smiled, as he laid down next to Lee, kissing her gently.

After at least an hour in bed, Lee and Jinxx were breathing heavily, and attempting to steady their breathing.

Jinxx rolled over onto his side to face Lee, who rolled over onto her side too, “You know, Lee,” Jinxx began breathlessly, “That was wonderful.”

Lee chuckled breathly, “Thank you,” she whispered out, a smile spreading across her face.

Before Jinxx could reply to Lee, he heard Lilith start fussing over something.

Lee rolled her eyes, “Hold on darling. Let me go check on Lilith really fast. I’ll be right back,” she told him, giving Jinxx a quick, passionate kiss before rolling out of bed to check on Lilith.

Picking Lilith up, Lee kept calmly talking to her daughter, before turning her back on Jinxx, so Lee could feed Lilith.

“No need to turn around, honey. I know what you look like, so there’s no need to be ashamed. You’re beautiful to me, Lee,” Jinxx said, trying to reassure his wife.

Lee sighed, and gently turned around, hoping Jinxx would have his attention on something else. Instead, Jinxx just looked right into Lee’s eyes.

“You have really beautiful eyes. Have I ever told you that?” Jinxx asked, giving Lee a very warm smile.

Lee blushed heavily, and attempted to not show it, “Thank you, mon amour,” she said, gently looking up at Jinxx with a slight smile across her face.

Smiling brightly, Jinxx looked up at Lee, “It’s always a joy to hear you call me that. I have an odd question for you though, darling.”

“What, honey?” Lee asked as Lilith got finished with her supposed lunch.

“You do remember what tomorrow is, right?” Jinxx questioned back, getting off the bed to get dressed.

“Halloween. Our favorite holiday. Thank you for reminding me,” Lee replied, “I’ve got to go get something from the store to complete my costume. Do you want anything while I’m out with Lilith?” Lee asked, as she caught some clothes Jinxx threw at her.

“No thanks. Just be careful. Alright?” Jinxx replied, gently taking Lilith from Lee so she could get dressed.

Promising Jinxx she would be careful, Lee took Lilith from Jinxx again. Borrowing Jinxx’s car, Lee went to the store to do some last minute Halloween shopping.
