After a few hours of trying to calm Lilith down, Lee, Jinxx, and Lilith were on their way to Lee’s psychiatrist appointment. Lee sighed as she looked over at Jinxx, hoping he would turn the car around.
“I heard that sigh, you have to go, my sweet. Trust me, talking to someone about your dreams might help you. I just know that you need some help. Your dreams have come true since you were a child, and the one about me came true. I want to give you help before Lilith’s dream comes true, baby,” Jinxx told Lee as they arrived in thе parking lot of Lee’s psychiatrist.
“Do you always have a pet name for mе?” Lee asked with a giggle, “It always seems like you do. Not that I don’t mind it, I honestly love it when you call me something other than my name. You’re such a tease when you do that,” Lee said, gently kissing the side of Jinxx’s neck.
Jinxx chuckled deeply after a few seconds, “Alright baby. You’ve had your fun. You get to go talk to your psychiatrist about your dreams now. And while you’re doing that,” Jinxx paused, as he let out a deep sigh, “I’ve got to call the band and let them know the tour is off. I know you wanted me to have fun, and to go touring, but I don’t want to risk it. Besides, I have you and Lilith to think about,” Jinxx told Lee, gently kissing the top of her head.
Nodding gently, Lee slid out of Jinxx’s car as she waved Jinxx bye. Sighing heavily, Lee walked into her psychiatrist’s office. After waiting for just a few minutes, a man walked out of the back room, and motioned for Lee to follow him.
“When was the last time you had an appointment with me, Lee? Been a few years, hasn’t it?” the man questioned as he led Lee to a very large room with a sofa in one corner.
“Well, I’m sorry. I’ve been busy. My husband was the one that forced me here. I need help for my recent dreams,” Lee replied as she sat down on the couch, “Besides, Sixx. How do you expect me to have a decent visit with you if I have a child with me?” Lee asked, looking up at her psychiatrist, a slight attitude showing.
“I thought I allowed you to call me Andy. Only call me by my professional name when your, I guess now, husband is around. Alright?” Andy told Lee, as he sat in a large chair adjacent to the sofa.
Lee nodded as she gently laid down on the large sofa as Andy grabbed his notebook, ready to take notes.
“Let’s start at the beginning of your dreams. I’m only here to listen, and I promise you, I will not judge,” Andy told her, getting comfortable in his chair.
Lee nodded and exhaled deeply as she began to tell Andy all about her dreams, what she thought of them, and how scared she was for her family.
After she finished, Andy cleared his throat, “It seems a lot worse than I expected. You said that your dream about your husband came true?” Andy asked, looking up from his notes.
Lee nodded, “Yes, sir. My husband got covid on his way to Nashville. I had a dream a little over a year ago about him getting covid. Now I’m afraid for my child. Can you attempt to help me, Andy?” Lee asked as she attempted to not cry.
Andy gently nodded, “I’ll attempt to help you the best way I can. There are no promises, though. Would you mind telling me the dream you had about your daughter?” he asked, grabbing his notebook from the floor.
Lee nodded as she attempted to recall the dream, “A few days ago, my husband came home, and I was excited to see him. My daughter was still asleep in her crib when Jinxx came home. So after he brought me back to bed, and we had some sleep, I woke up to see Jinxx holding my daughter in his arms. After at least thirty minutes, Jinxx had brought Lilith back to her crib so I could cuddle with him. I guess I just fell asleep, because when I woke up, I started freaking out. I had dreamed that Lilith, like Jinxx, caught Covid, and she didn’t make it,” just as Lee finished her thought, she burst out in tears, as it was a very difficult thing to talk about.
Andy handed Lee a tissue so she could dry her tears, “I’ve known you for a while, Lee. Since High School, and every single time you had a dream, it would come true. You had a dream about me breaking my leg, and that came true. I’m so sorry this is happening to you again, I thought you outgrew it. We’re out of time for this visit, but I promise you, whenever I find something out, I will call you. I promise you that. Okay?” Andy told Lee, attempting to reassure her.
Lee nodded gently as she dried a second round of tears, “Alright, Andy. Thank you for your time, and thank you for trying to help. I will hopefully be expecting a phone call from you. I know there’s still a risk of covid, but can I please give you a hug? You’ve been my friend for a very long time, and you are family to me, even though we’re not related,” Lee asked, finally clearing her tears away.
“Sure,” Andy replied, giving Lee a hug, “Would you like me to walk you out?” Andy asked, finally breaking the, what felt like, endless hug.
Lee nodded as she followed Andy out of the room, back through the lobby, and outside to the parking lot. As soon as Lee caught up to Andy, she saw Jinxx arrive, ready to pick her up.
“Bye Andy,” Lee whispered out before sliding into Jinxx’s car.
Smiling warmly at Lee, Andy waved her bye.
