Finally arriving home, Jinxx slowly walked into the house, and listened for Lee’s music. Jinxx knew whenever Lee was almost finished meditating, she’d start playing some of her loudest albums she owned.
“Lee!” Jinxx called up the stairs whenever he didn’t hear her music, “I got you a present if you want it!”
Jinxx heard a door close, as Lee walked down the stairs, her hair extremely messy, and her face still faintly red from crying.
“What, Jinxx?” Lee asked, her voice cracking as she spoke.
“I know your birthday’s tomorrow, but I got you a present. Your brother helped me pick this one out,” Jinxx replied, silently hoping this gift would make his wife smile.
Lee faintly smiled as she opened her mouth to speak, “S-so you mean to tell me that my brother, Jayy, helped you buy me a birthday present?” Lee asked, playfully tilting her head to the side, ignoring the fact she stuttered a little.
Nodding gently, Jinxx handed Lee a bag full of things a hamster would need, “Take a guess on what I got you, darling,” Jinxx said as Lee looked in the bag.
Lee gasped as she looked up at Jinxx, “You got me a hamster! Thank you, baby,” she gasped out, “But... where is it?” Lee asked as she noticed she only had the things to keep it alive.
“Here,” Jinxx said, pulling a cage out from behind his back. Inside the cage, was a small hamster, no bigger than a small kitten.
“Jinxx,” Lee gasped out as she began to cry, “Thank you.”
Sitting the cage down gently on the floor, Jinxx wrapped Lee in a hug, “You’re welcome, baby. Please, for me, just don’t cry,” Jinxx told his wife.
“W-why?” Lee gently stuttered out.
“Well, remember how you have a stutter? Like, a slight stutter over some words?” Jinxx asked as Lee gently nodded, “While I was out with Jayy, I saw there was a kind of speech therapy place that specializes in helping with stutters,” Jinxx said.
“Y-you’re going to help my s-sutter?” Lee asked as her eyes began to fill with tears.
Jinxx nodded as he wrapped Lee in a hug, “Yeah, I am, darling. While your stutter is cute to me, it seems to be troubling you. I know you only stutter on certain words and phrases, but it’s still bothering you. You deserve all the help you can get,” Jinxx said, as Lee wrapped him in another hug.
“T-thank you, Jinxx. I have noticed my s-stutter is getting a little w-worse with different w-words. I don’t know how long I can keep hiding it,” Lee told Jinxx, crying when she heard how much she stuttered.
“Do Jayy and Jeffree know about your stutter?” Jinxx asked as he tried to calm his wife down.
Lee shook her head, not wanting to speak, for the fear she would stutter the entire sentence.
Jinxx gently nodded, “Which words do you stutter the most?” Jinxx asked. Lee gave him a very unamused look as she went to grab a notebook to write them all down.
Throwing the notebook back at Jinxx, Lee walked into the kitchen to get something to drink, before walking back to Jinxx, who had sat down on the couch.
“You have a long list of words you stutter. I didn’t realize you stuttered this much,” Jinxx said after finally looking over the three pages of words Lee listed.
“I s-stutter enough, but I t-try to hide it s-so people don’t notice it,” Lee stuttered out, wiping forming tears away.
Jinxx wrapped Lee in a tight hug, “Want to go today? You need help, baby,” Jinxx whispered in Lee’s ear.
Lee gently nodded as she found a way to lean against Jinxx’s chest, not wanting to speak anymore than she had to.
“Alright. Let’s go get your hamster situated, and then we’ll go. I just wanna know one thing,” Jinxx said, looking down at Lee.
“Quel?” Lee asked, smiling as she finally found a word she didn’t stutter on.
“Why didn’t you tell me you had a stuttering issue?” Jinxx questioned back, mentally translating what his wife said.
“I w-was afraid that y-you w-wouldn’t s-stay w-with me if y-you knew,” Lee stuttered out, her eyes filling with tears.
Jinxx looked over at Lee, who had moved to the other end of the couch, “Baby. Stutter or no stutter, I didn’t date you for your looks, or what you sound like. I started dating you, then married you, because your heart and soul is beautiful. That is why you’re my wife today, Lee,” Jinxx told her, giving Lee a gentle smile.
“T-that’s the nicest t-thing anyone has over t-told me,” Lee stuttered out again, “T-thank you, baby.”
“Come on, babe. Let’s go get your hamster settled, and we’ll go try to help your stutter,” Jinxx said after a few minutes.
Lee nodded as she grabbed her new pet from off the floor, and followed Jinxx to their bedroom. Finally getting the hamster settled, Jinxx carried Lee outside, and called Jayy to see if it was okay to borrow his car. After Jayy gave the okay, Jinxx and Lee embarked to the speech therapy place.
