In 1982, showing true community spirit, Di Presa's opened the doors as a meeting place for Alcoholics Anonymous members. Every Wednesday night, local alcoholics, many of whom were also employees of the restaurant, would gather to sip soft drinks, smoke cigarettes and take turns reading their own original poetry.
