Days passed before my eyes, and before I knew it, the day of the super blood moon arrived. I grew impatient on how to help Ashley, and how to keep him safe.
Before I knew it, night had arrived, and Ashley was getting ready for his hunt, “Do you have to go?” I asked as Ashley was almost finished getting ready.
Ashley sighed, “I told you to come with me. Rocket, I don’t want to get hurt. You saw what happened last time I went out,” Ashley told me with anothеr sigh.
“Are you sure?” I asked as I gavе Ashley a hug, “I’ll go with you, but I don’t know how I’m supposed to watch you,” I added as I broke the hug.
Ashley nodded as he opened the large window in our bedroom, “I’ll be in the woods. Come find me whenever you see it’s fit,” Ashley quietly said as he leapt out the window.
Finding a quick drink, I ran out of my house, hoping I could find Ashley. Finally finding Ashley in his normal clearing in the woods, I watched as Ashley began his transformation. Chasing after Ashley after his transformation was complete was a complete nightmare for me since Ashley was a little faster than I was.
I hid behind a tree whenever he saw Ashley crouch down, and began stalking some creature. Ashley’s hunt lasted for hours, far longer than his usual hunts, and I could admit, Ashley seemed more violent during this hunt.
I remembered the conversation I had with Ashley a few weeks ago, Ashley saying he wanted a hunt where he could have a few easy meals without traps. Apparently, Ashley had gotten his wish, and Ashley did find easy meals without bear traps.
Hours later, Ashley collapsed in the woods just a few minutes after sunrise. I ran up to Ashley, who finally passed out from exhaustion, and finally turned back into his human form.
“Oh, Ash,” I whined out as I made it over to Ashley, “I am so sorry you had to go through with this,” I whispered out as I picked Ashley up.
Slowly walking through the woods, I finally made my way back to my house, Ashley still in my arms. Ashley woke up just before I began walking up the steps to put him back to bed.
“What happened, baby?” Ashley asked softly, “The last thing I remember is you were stressing about something. My back hurts,” Ashley hissed out.
I sighed, “You were under the influence of the super blood moon. Ash, I thought you were going to hurt yourself. At least you got your wish, baby. You got one hunt without traps, and you found a few easy meals,” I replied as I gently placed Ashley in bed, “I’m surprised your back isn’t hurting you though. You were pretty wild last night,” I added.
“Baby,” Ashley whined out, “I am so sorry I went out. Can you sing me to sleep?” Ashley asked as a single tear trailed down his face.
I nodded, “The writing’s on the wall. Your crimson touch is goin' nowhere. I'll hang on every word you said. And sink my teeth into this nightmare. I’m screaming out. Can you hear me? I’ll bleed for you, forever I will lie awake. I would die for you,” I sang as Ashley fell asleep in my arms, “I love you, baby. Never forget that,” I whispered out as I settled down next to Ashley.
Hours later, I finally woke up to the soft sound of Ashley singing. Following the sound, I found Ashley singing to himself as he made some lunch for himself, and for me.
“Ash?“ I softly asked as I walked up to the kitchen island.
“Hey baby. Sorry if I woke you up. I keep forgetting your hearing is as good as mine,” Ashley replied with a sheepish smile.
I smiled as I wrapped Ashley in a gentle hug, “Don’t apologize, Ash. I enjoy hearing you sing, baby,” I whispered out as I placed a gentle kiss on Ashley’s forehead.
Ashley looked down and smiled, “Thank you, Andy,” Ashley whispered out as he gave me a kiss.
“Baby, you’re going to hate me for this, but you need a shower. You smell like dirt, blood, and forest. Also, you really need to let me check your wounds. I know that you know that you’re not healed completely. Come here,” I said after a few minutes as I led Ashley over to the nearest chair.
I slowly unwrapped Ashley’s left leg, and saw it was trying to heal. After trying to treat the wound a little more, I sent Ashley to shower with the promise that I would be there after a few minutes.
