I’m A Vampire, He’s A Werewolf CHAPTER 5

Ashley ran into the woods behind my house. He knew not to go very far, but far enough to shake the populated portion of the city. Finally finding a clear spot under the moonlight, Ashley began his transformation.

After a few minutes, Ashley’s transformation was complete. In wolf form, Ashley ran deeper into the woods, hoping to find an easy meal. A few hours into his hunt, Ashley heard a distinct metallic clamp, and he felt pain coursing through his left leg.

Apparently, Ashley had stepped in another bear trap, and it had caught his left leg. Howling out in pain, Ashley began to try and pry the bear trap off. Ashley finally pried the trap off, and made his way back to my house.

Collapsing at the foot of the stairs, and transforming back to a human, Ashley wanted to pass out from exhaustion, his left leg still bleeding.

Ashley knew my medical skills were pretty good, they had to be. I never went to medical school, but was entirely self-taught. With those thoughts, Ashley thought I could try to help clean the rather deep wound.

“Andyyyy,” Ashley howled out in pain. He knew I would hear his pleas, and would run down to help him.

A few minutes later, I ran down the stairs, “Ash, what happened?” I asked as I saw Ashley’s left leg.

“Bear trap. Someone modified it. It hurts,” Ashley hissed out, tears streaming down his face.

“You promised you’d be careful,” I said as I grabbed my first aid kit.

Ashley groaned out in pain as I began to dress his wound, “Shut up. Don’t remind me. It wasn’t my fault some moron mortal placed a bear trap in the woods. What did they lace it with, Andy? It fuckin’ hurts,” Ashley groaned out again.

“You’re not going to like this answer, but from the looks of it, that same mortal laced it with a hint of poison. I honestly don’t know why they did it, but I can’t treat it, Ash. You need to go to a hospital. I’m sorry,” I replied as a single tear streamed down my face.

“Poison?” Ashley gasped out, “What if- what if someone finds out I’m not human?” Ashley asked as he began to cry again.

I sighed, “You’re more human than me. No one will find out. I promise. Come on, let’s get you to a hospital,” I said as I picked Ashley up.

Quickly driving Ashley to the hospital, I got Ashley the help he needed. After a few hours, Ashley was released with the promise that he would take it easy.

“See baby? You’re fine. I promised you that you would be fine,” I said as Ashley flopped into the backseat.

“Yeah, yeah. Why do all my hunts involve some kind of trap? Just once, I want a hunt where I can find a few easy meals without getting hurt,” Ashley groaned out, “That would be heaven.”

I sighed as I began to drive home, “I wish I could tell you. We’re almost home baby. Try and relax.”

Ashley nodded as he tried to take his mind off everything that happened. Wondering which mortal tried to absolutely kill him, Ashley dozed off. Arriving home, I carried Ashley into the house, up the stairs, and into bed.

Curling up to a pillow, Ashley sighed as he got comfortable. Even though I wasn’t tired, I settled into bed next to my boyfriend. Ashley rolled away from me to try and find some warmth, since I was always freezing cold.
