Did you have any kids?
Did they play out in the backyard like I did?

And do you ever drive by?
Do you ever say hi?
Does the place where you spent all that time ever even cross your mind?

Did you move?
Out west, to the coast?
And did you take your memories with you, or do they haunt this place like ghosts?

Do you ever wonder?
What color your room was painted?
And if you saw the way that it looked today, would you hate it?

And have you been to that house?
Since my mom and dad bought it?
Would you even recognize it now if you saw it?

Who knew these windows?
Who knew these walls?
Before the cornfields were all high school halls
Before the forest all became strip malls

And what can I do?
