Whenever I'm sad
I like to break out my dad's record collection
Most of the albums aren't bad
He gave them to me back when I was a freshman
And he said, "This is what I liked as a kid"
"What I listened to back in high school"
"And if we grew up together I'd bet he'd think I was cool"

There's The Smiths and The Violent Femmes
There's Prince, Castello, and Bowie
He's got New Order and The Talking Heads
Thе Clash, The Cure and Bruce Springsteen

Nothing sounds bеtter than those crackling old records
That my dad listened to back in high school
Well, my dad's still the coolest
And those records still rule
