“I Can’t Stand Myself” is the sixth song on Screeching Weasel’s debut album. It can best be described as a short, hardcore punk song, with self-loathing lyrics. Interestingly enough, in the first verse, Ben says that he steals from work. In the second verse, he says he doesn’t have a job.
[Verse 1]
I'm immature, I talk a lot
I'm a lying, cheating little snot
I smell bad, I don't comb my hair
I steal from work, I don't fight fair
[Chorus]
I can't stand myself
I can't stand myself
[Verse 2]
Girls are repulsed by the sight of me
I slouch and I don't brush my teeth
Don't have a job, don't go to school
And worst of all, I think I'm cool
[Chorus]
I can't stand myself
I can't stand myself
I Can’t Stand Myself was written by Ben Weasel.
