What inspired the song?
When we went into the writing session for Cuttin' Me Loose, we were just wanting to write a breakup anthem. We liked the idea of telling a story about a guy that had been broken up with but he wasn’t sad about it. So, that’s what we decided to do!
How did the song come together?
I wrote this with Nick Columbia and Dan Fernandez. Nick came in with the idea for the song, and Dan started playing the guitar line almost immediately. This song is the one on my EP that came out most true to the demo.
What was the process of making the song like?
We wrote this at Dan’s home studio. It came together pretty quickly. It was a very effortless write for all of us.
