She'll have you dancin' round on two left feet
Choking on every syllable you try to speak
Little dizzy when you ain't even half drunk
Just trippin' on her hazel-eyed kinda buzz
She knows what she's doing and she's doin' it well
We just met, but I can tell
She oughta come with a warning sign yellow tape, caution lights
Flag flying high sayin' that girls the type
To wind you up and turn you loose, act like you ain't nothin' new
Leave your heart black and blue
Like that's what she was born to do
She's a silver screen starlet in cowboy boots
Keeps it 007, martini kinda cool
She's an angel with a pitchfork silhouеtte
The farthest thing from a safе bet
She come with a warning sign yellow tape, caution lights
Flag flying high sayin' that girls the type
To wind you up and turn you loose, act like you ain't nothin' new
Leave your heart black and blue
Like that's what she was born to do
That's what she's born to do
She knows what she's doing and she's doin it well
Might look like heaven, but hell
She oughta come with a warning sign yellow tape, caution lights
Flag flying high sayin' that girls the type
To wind you up and turn you loose, act like you ain't nothin' new
Leave your heart black and blue
Like that's what she was born to do
That's what she's born to do
That's what she's born to do
Born To Do was written by Reid Haughton & Ben Goldsmith & Luke Preston.
Born To Do was produced by Sadler Vaden.
Reid Haughton released Born To Do on Fri May 19 2023.
Born To Do was initially going to be a song about the musician lifestyle, but like any good country songwriters, we turned it into a song about a girl. A “wonder woman” kind of girl.
I wrote this song with Ben Goldsmith & Luke Preston. I went into the write with the title and Luke came up with the idea to add the girl to it.
We wrote this song in a standard writing session; it only took a few hours. I knew the day we wrote this song that I was going to cut it. I loved it!
