“Squeaky Clean” was in the running to be included on Anthem for a New Tomorrow in 1993 but ultimately wasn’t recorded for the album. This recording of the song is from a rehearsal tape made prior to Screeching Weasel’s tour in spring of 1993.
Jeanie's giving me the runaround
You know my heart is dropping to the ground
But if I'd only get you for a date
You know I wouldn't be a second late
She must think I'm square
'Cause Jeanie had to wash her hair
When I asked if she'd go out with me
You know my heart is in your shampoo bottle, girl
You wash and rinse it squeaky clean
You know what I mean?
Jeanie, why don't you give the time to me?
I know your hair is clean and dandruff-free
But if it would make everything all right
I would lather your head every night
She must think I'm square
'Cause Jeanie had to wash her hair
When I asked if she'd go out with me
Squeaky Clean was written by Dan Vapid & Ben Weasel.
Screeching Weasel released Squeaky Clean on Tue Feb 01 2000.
