Inventing dozens of wild conspiracies for every character
I would look them up on tumblr to have things to talk to you about
Spending hours fawning over how Dean and Cas were just meant to be together
So deeply I understood the longing in their touches, the almost-kisses, the blush on their cheeks
when they caught each other’s eyes
After a while we realized that the show really should have ended after season five
It all started feeling like a slow motion car crash
Gone were the monsters of the week we fell in love with, Dean driving a stake through a
vampire’s heart
Our conversations became the filler
By the time the finale came around we’d skipped half the season
You started doing drugs with the theater kids and stopped answering my texts
By the September premiere, we’d both abandoned it, another teen obsession evaporated, tossed
in the wastebasket above to the J-14s and crumpled up old love letters
Sometimes I see Jensen Ackles’ green eyes and I think of our breathless Skype calls, the notes
exchanged in class, the way you’d sit so close to me at lunch
