This poem is about Lydia Martin, a character from the MTV series Teen Wolf. Lydia is a banshee, and her character is largely reduced to her banshee abilities and her sex appeal. This poem expresses the poet’s upset with the way that Lydia is reduced to a scream, rather than a person.
screaming girl has the least screen time
but a very important role obviously
screaming girl can be powerful but only when she is screaming
only if she screams loud enough
only if she screams loud enough for someone to hear her
only if she screams loud enough for the right person to hear her
and come to her rescue of course
screaming girl is important because she can scream
because she shows the hero where to go
and how to save her
the hero becomes a hero in episode one
and screaming girl begins to scream
but she isn't important til season three
and then only for her scream
it is important that screaming girl doesn’t say anything
screaming girl might distract the hero
if she tries to speak
when she is only here to scream
it isn't important
what you think you have to say
the hero knows what he is doing
he will save you, as soon as you scream
