Freedom Annotated

Hmm, yeah
Let me tell you a little bit about where we’re coming from.

I was born trapped into a war zone.
Enslaved in a space where a battle was raged,
For generations,
Between the forces of dissatisfaction
And those of Jubilation

You see,
Not everybody was happy with everybody being free,
So they sought to entrap them by making them believe

But Jubilation eventually won with laughter,
Yeah…Laughter,
But I mean full-bellied laughter,
I mean “bussin’ up & crying for your Mother” laughter.
“Out-of-breath”, “Out-of-control”, “not-a-care-in-the-world” laughter.

And once we realised that such joy couldn’t be bought,
And couldn’t be sold,
It couldn’t be packaged,
And couldn’t be controlled,
That was the beginning of the end for dissatisfaction.

For you can’t really imprison the twinkling of an eye,
Or put a price upon a smile,
And how can someone forever manipulate the illusion of time,
To confuse & deny?

For once you stop caring about what I’m wearing,
And you only put value upon what I’m sharing,
Then the war starts to begin,
As the rules by which you live by,
Become paper-thin

So that’s when our thoughts started to fly,
As we likened all obstacles to gravity,
For anything that works day and night to hold you down,
It must be linked with insanity

Freedom was supremely cherished,
Restriction became a sin,
Once like-minds become connected,
Telepathy bonds from within

And now we travel where we please,
The Universe couldn’t place us,
As we moved beyond race,
Beyond name,
Beyond status,
And we just tapped into the eternal flow,
And who cares where it takes us?

This was a Paradise worth fighting for,
This was our renewable energy source,
It rejuvenated us and so... money?
Money had no cause.

Yet I remember the power of desire that destroyed the fire,
The abandonment of joy for joy’s sake,
Elevated the “Lie”

The lie that nothing could function unless it was owned by someone,
Unless its history could be traced,
And now everything needed to be put in its proper place

And it has to be well-documented and accounted for,
For all of this paperwork allows them to keep score,
Somebody needs to keep score on those keeping score,
And once we add up the results?
There’s nothing more.

So we would wake up and feel that we’re doing nothing,
And then go back to sleep and feel that we’ve done nothing,
But subconsciously we dream of being more than a function

Of being more than a button,
To be pressed at every junction,
And depressed by the assumption,
That you have to own something

And have the receipt to prove it,
And mind you don’t lose it,
Or…
….maybe you’ve already lost it,
For turning everything into nothing was dissatisfaction’s profit

But to value nothing as everything,
That was Jubilation’s shock,
It was an ironic twist on that which exists,
An infectious punch-line that tickled the mind

And once people were tickled?
Oh my God they laughed,
I mean… they laughed!
So infectious was the realisation,
Of the Jubilation that it created the galaxies and stars

It created the planets and moons,
As their joy swiftly consumed,
And spread without a care,
Beyond the realms of...
Everywhere.

It was forever moving,
Forever being,
It was always creating, it was always seeing

Forever rebellious,
Forever intelligent,
Forever living,
Forever laughing

It was forever free
