Mr Gee Poet & Eliza Shaddad
If change is the only constant,
How should you view desire?
It's endless shape-shifting of correspondence,
That fuels the flames of raging fires
For we have arrived,
From beyond the place of rhyme,
In the middle,
Between the riddle,
Of circumstance and time
How can you trade a loving smile,
And replace it with a money pile?
Or claim to sell off space and time,
When they were never really yours to buy?
For we have arrived,
To reject this vacant high,
To stop this moment passing over,
To end the respite, before the rise
As we maintain the wonder of a child,
And view this world with fresher eyes,
Eternity makes mockery of your clocks,
So, past regrets?
Just let them slide
As the future sighs,
For it knows how hard you’ve tried,
It knows that monuments are full of pretence,
And life itself is the only prize
So connects the dots and monitor the blips,
Déjà vu will look you in the eye of your rocket-ships,
And no one can paint perfect pictures,
If they suffocate emerging wisdom,
From a head-on collision of continental drift
So we have arrived,
With a peek and a glance,
Captivated by an essence,
Related by a stance
If steel nerves can rest on a razor's edge,
Words sharpen the blade,
While fate shaves the head,
And the music's inclined so the stage is set,
And the bemused rewind,
So they play it back
And the clue’s in the proof's in the pudding to get,
The heat out the kitchen,
Should the fans forget
So we have arrived,
From a different space and a different time,
To reset the grace,
And embrace a different mind
