A black vortex swirled inside
Lack of a safe place to confide
Conned into unfamiliar territory
I wandered into a quest when I wasn’t ready

Frail / I drowned in overwhelming darkness
For the longest I had waited at the edge of defeat

Every instance of physical pain was a sadistic reprieve
