About MOTHICA

Described as “Like a moth, nocturnal yet drawn to the light,” Mothica, or stylized “MOTHICA”, is the audio-visual project of Oklahoma-born McKenzie Ellis.

Mothica began releasing music on SoundCloud in 2014, releasing a stream of singles there. Later that year, she made her first debut on streaming services, featuring on the track “Molt” by BROCKHAMPTON member Bearface.

She released her debut EP Mythic in 2015, and followed up with singles dropped in 2016 and 2017 prior to the release of her second EP Heavy Heart. Her third EP Ashes was released in 2018.

Mothica then put out seven singles in 2020 to build up for her debut album Blue Hour. A snippet of the single “VICES” grew popular on TikTok, reaching over five million views.

2021 saw Mothica drop her third EP, forever fifteen.

Mothica is set to release her second album Nocturnal in 2022.
