Know this, brothers and sisters: We are all truth-seekers. God, in his infinite wisdom, has endowed us all with the irrepressible, inescapable desire to know the truth; to know him and understand his plan for us. He has given us the gift of perpetual curiosity about our place in his universe. He has imparted to us the knowledge of our own fragility, that we are here in this reality for but a short while, yet he has offered us absolutely no insight into what comes next, and that frightens us.
That's where religion comes in! To give us the answers we so desperately seek, and the peace of mind that so often eludes us. There are currently over seven hundred active religions on the planet, each divided into sects and subsets that number in the thousands. Since only one religion can be the right religion, the vast majority of us must be worshiping the wrong god. And to make things far, far worse, it is the precept of most religions that God not only offers no comfort to those of us duped into the wrong faith, he actually condemns us to an eternity of unimaginable agony for our miscalculation. In other words, HE HATES US. Not all of us, mind you. Just those of us who go to the wrong churches. Which is almost all of us.
Consequently, it is imperative that we flesh out the truth, that we determine once and for all who among us is God’s chosen people, and which of us he hates. That's why we should fight about what happens when you die.
