As the stone temple door opens, the faint, orange glow of light from torches and candles can barely be seen through the void. As we travel through the hallways of this ancient structure, chants and echoes become louder each step. As we move past darkness filled chambers, torches along the dark corridors allow mysterious symbols that are engraved in the stone walls to be slightly visible as they glisten through the fire light and dance around like shadows as a slight breeze of wind comes through. This gush of air has come from the inner sanctum of the temple, which means someone has just recently opened the door that enters into the central and deepest section of the pyramid. The stone floors in this area have almost instantly changed color from an old rustic dark grey to a now dark maroon which is nothing less than uncountable years of spilled blood that was left here, left to stain the path. This inner layer is only known to very few as The Pit
