Thanatophobia

Soon the sands of time will cease to fall
Deteriorating health weakening into this condition
As the process of death begins its final phase
Am I to continue or cease to be?

Curiosity occurs as my body slows
Memories of the past flash before my eyes
Now I must accept that my time has come
To find what lies on the other side

An injured spirit burns within my soul
Asphyxiation begins to overwhelm
Suddenly a distance forms and everything fades
As this journey ends, another begins

Pacing through the maze of death I cry
Frantic, horrid screaming wondering why
Judgement toll is calling as I die
From a disembodied corpse I shall arise

In a void of black I find myself
Condemned into the darkest depths to dwell
Have I risen to a newfound plane
Or condemned in hell forever to remain?

Is it time to repent? For my time has come
To find what lies, on the other side
