Searching for reality
I found my immaturity
Brought all my insecurity
And I guessed it showed
Life became so complicated
Some folks get inebriated
Others get high and feel elated
They say the mind grows
Mentally ‘twas so complex
I feared that I might be the next
Loose my soul and that reflects my philosophy
For when I was young my mama taught
Doin’ wrong would bring me naught
But tears and pain and then I thought
Rationalize girl, set your mind free
Reading books of love and strife
I chanced upon the book of life
And once again the truth applied surrounded me
So again I sit and wonder why I thought I had to simplify
The basic truth that meets the eye
The one that lets a newborn cry
And lets a little sparrow fly
Came to earth to live and die for you and me
