He watches o’er the desert sand
Where dwells neither man nor beast
On mountains high where eagles fly
And their young ones take their rest
In the valleys low where the lilies grow
Or out on stormy sea
Our God above keeps a watch in love
And I know He watches me

He keeps a watch o’er the meadowlark
And o’er the sparrows small
His tender care is everywhere
He’s the keeper of us all
And where’er you go on this earth below
Unseen though He may be
Our faithful friend till our journey’s end
