[Verse 1]
You're so satin chic
Look rich, talking cheap
On your telephone
Won't be coming home
He's my man
Yeah, he's my man
You don't understand
[Verse 2]
Dressed up lizard green
Celluloid seventeen
Lip gloss bold as blood
You got 'em linin' up
He's my man
Yeah, he's my man
You don't understand
[Refrain]
Ne na na na na na na
Ne na na na na na na
Ne na na na na na na
Ne na na na na na
[Verse 3]
Racing through the stars
You killed me a while
My smile synchronised
For everyone tonight
He's my man
Yeah, he's my man
You don't understand
[Refrain]
Ne na na na na na na
Ne na na na na na na
Ne na na na na na na
Ne na na na na na
[Refrain]
Ne na na na na na na
Ne na na na na na na
Ne na na na na na na
Ne na na na na na
Satin Chic was written by Alison Goldfrapp & Will Gregory.
Satin Chic was produced by Goldfrapp.
Goldfrapp released Satin Chic on Mon Aug 22 2005.
On the compilation album iTunes Originals: Goldfrapp, the duo talked about the song:
Will:
Quite sparse, like an anti-groove, a german two-step, like some sort of tuba part in an oompa band. But then it kind of has honky-tonk piano, some weird electronic fuzz guitars. I think it’s just a hodgepodg...
A pre-release album sampler had it listed as “He’s My Man”, after a lyric in the song. A promotional instrumentals CD listed the song as “Satan Chic”.
“Satin Boys, Flaming Chic” was released as Supernature’s fifth and final single on August 14, 2006 (digital download only). It consisted of a remixed version of the song called “Satin Chic (Through the Mystic Mix, Dimension 11 by The Flaming Lips)” and the B-side “Boys Will Be Boys”.
