“Koko” is an uptempo, electronic song about nights spent having fun.
The title seems to be a reference to KOKO, a famous nightclub and live music venue in Camden, London. The song’s working title seems to support this interpretation.
Here’s a video of Goldfrapp performing live at the venue:
[Verse 1]
Sharp as teeth and stars
I can't give you up
Like a moth to light
Move like caramel
[Chorus]
'Til dawn, you glow
'Til dawn, you glow
[Post-Chorus]
Soon be nothing of this world
Soon be nothing
Soon be nothing of this world
Soon be nothing
[Verse 2]
Breathe back into life
Stabs at happiness
Now we're having fun
Hold tight
[Chorus]
Don't look down
'Til dawn, you glow
'Til dawn, you glow
[Post-Chorus]
Soon be nothing of this world
Soon be nothing
Soon be nothing of this world
Soon be nothing
[Chorus]
Don't look down
'Til dawn, you glow
'Til dawn, you glow
