What was the meaning -- the fundamental lesson of the sacrificial system? / why did you have to shed blood? / the principle was: substitution / life for life / the innocent for the guilty / the price of sin: death //

Yom Kippur is here / we’re at the Tent of Meeting / come before the LORD only once a year while the priest is interceding / the lamb is in your hand / instructed to take its life / confess your sins over it / the priest hands you a knife / the sight is quite disturbing / you slice it like a surgeon / collect the blood in the basin / hand the lamb to the man in the turban / the hands and feet of the priest are bathed in a basin filled with water / after cleansed in the laver they sprinkle the blood of the lamb on the brazen altar / as you go through the door / there’s such a sweet aroma / to the left a gold menorah which stays lit from the burn of the oil / slowly approach the veil / to the right are golden shelves / known as the table of showbread displayed in rows of twelve / you notice off in the distance / there’s an article that stops at the entrance / offered up for repentance / are the prayers of the priest at the altar of incense / go through the curtain now / without the slightest sound / you know God can mow you down / cause you stand on holy ground / see the Mercy Seat laced with gold plated covering / golden cherubim's hovering on the Ark of the Covenant / the room’s consumed with holy doom it’s where God’s wrath abides / all of your iniquities are cast aside / now God’s wrath is satisfied //

The Day of Atonement is here / we're at the top of Golgotha watching the slaughter as God the Father is offered a spotless Lamb on the cross bruh / the eternal Word tabernacling with us / stricken / smitten and afflicted for all the sin we committed / before the beginning the Lord decreed the ordinance that these horrible sins would be borne by Him who's born innocent / so a picture is painted for us in Scripture through rituals we get visual hints of what He was sent for / consider Him in His intercession for sinners it's more than similar / it is an intentional fulfillment of / the high priest the mediator between the Deity and the dirty who need and plead to be cleaned up / so baptism is happening at the laver / a symbolism of cleansing and being buried and raised up / this is identification with the Savior / and after justification we enter the Holy Place bruh / now behold the glow of the golden menorah / it's the Messiah / the Light of the world / in all that He's Lord of / peep the table and see the body that's broken / the blood of the New Covenant it's the wine and the showbread / the prayers of the saints are offered up with the incense / since the veil has been ripped through His body we have an entrance / call it the Mercy Seat we call it the Throne of Grace / the presence of the King of kings in the Most Holy Place //

So the children of Israel following the rituals of the Day of Atonement and humbling themselves before God and doing their part and putting their trust in what God had revealed to receive mercy / forgiveness not simply based on the power of that blood / but based on what that was pointing to / what God would ultimately do on behalf of the human race //
