Exodus 3 / and Moses had to remove his sandals / cause he was standing on a sacred place / the sight was too much to handle / he was afraid to see God face-to-face // (X2)
Before Moses was known / as a prophet of God / one day as he was watching the flock of his father-in-law / no longer in Egypt now in Midian instead / Pharaoh had wanted him dead that's why Moses hid and fled / Jethro the high priest gave him his daughter to wed / now he's a shepherd watching the flocks by the mountain Horeb / that's when he noticed the blaze a bush glowing a flame / a sight that you wouldn't expect in the open terrain / but what was more strange the flames didn't simmer / yet the leaves of the branches on the bush didn't wither / Moses thought I will go investigate this strange sight / like a moth he was so attracted to the flame's light / and so by curiosity he was taken / little did he know it was a Theophany in the making / Scripture says the Angel of the LORD appeared in the middle of the bush in flames of fire now hear is the riddle it reads / when the LORD saw Moses turn and look it was God who called to Moses from the burning bush // Scripture gives no distinction as to the One in the flame / the Messenger and God are mentioned as if One and the same // then the LORD called his name / Moses said here I am / remove your sandals for where you stand is holy land // I AM the God of your fathers / the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob / then Moses buried his face in his hands / prostrate in the sand / amazed at it all / Moses hid his face cause he was afraid to see God // yes he saw the God of Israel / yet the prophet lived to tell / gotta be Theophany / the mighty God is revealed //
