Rejected From Society

Call us robots or lost souls
Our numbers are great, but we still feel alone
We roam the earth without a will of our own
As robots we do what we’re told / Don’t ever say no
As lost souls we want to know more than solely sorrow
We’re detached from the world / We don’t have a choice
We can’t argue / Somebody always silences our voice
We’re created in the image that society makes for us
Through peer pressure and others’ expectations

We long to be ourselves
Without judges or punishments
We want to be treated fairly
Instead of being rejected from society

Anyone a part of a clique can serve as an enemy
Any of them could transform into a bully
We are feared although we’re at the bottom of the social chain
We are targets to anyone who misunderstands our pain
Viewed as monsters we are hunted one at a time
To survive we have to change ourselves / Style and mind
We live each day hoping our agony will cease
But only in death can we ever hope to find peace

We long to be ourselves

Instead of being rejected from society

We envy those who are born to be desired
The ones who walk in any room and are instantly transpired
Minimally we want to be acknowledged by them
But if we get too close we are immediately condemned
Why do we upset you / Who have we injured
The reasons for why you hate us are completely absurd
Overcome the obstacles you force us to confront
Then we’ll see if you can handle the harsh treatment

Reminiscent of my painful past
I remember what made me an outcast
Bound by fate I walked on a one-way path
Surrounded by people with merciless wrath

They added insult to injury / Threw sticks and stones
Broke my psyche while also breaking my bones
They mocked me / Engraved marks on my flesh
Found new flaws daily so their taunts stayed fresh
They took a poll / Deemed me unlikable
In response I resented the world and became distrustful
To care or feel compassion was a weakness to me
I discarded all emotions comparable to sympathy
Any kindness I had was replaced with hatred
The more encounters I made / The more the hate spread
Eventually the assaults ceased, but I turned invisible
I am an outcast for life / It is inescapable
