North Poles is the penultimate track on Bloodless, and is inspired by Samia’s close friend and collaborator Raffaella, who is also set to open for Samia on the Bloodless tour.
[Verse 1]
Sliding door squeaking
While I'm pouring your tea in
While you're cutting a blue pill in half for me
A few seconds of silence
Before they let the air in
And by then, we might've already fermented
[Chorus]
Back to back with our fists around
Natural wine from the corner
Fighting over the cork
We were born to be closers
And to find each other
Like north poles of magnets
When you see yourself in someone
How can you look at them?
[Verse 2]
Trying to feel hugs from heaven
Jack off to someone who's pregnant
Little blue dress for the strangers
Little black dog in the manger
[Chorus]
Back to back with our fists around
Natural wine from the corner
Fighting over the cork
We were born to be closers
And to find each other
Like north poles of magnets
When you see yourself in someone
How can you look at them?
[Verse 3]
Popstar fingers
Costumed telegram singers
Beating a dead ringer
With a spyware lipstick
[Chorus]
Back to back with our fists around
Natural wine from the corner
Fighting over the cork
We were born to be closers
And to find each other
Like north poles of magnets
When you see yourself in someone
How can you look at them?
[Verse 4]
Over the counter
In the yellow light
Hands with an empty
Glass and a steak knife
[Verse 5]
Everyone's Sofia
You cannot stop crying
I cannot stop drinking
Can I let the light in?

It was really emotional. I don’t think she (Raffaella) knew when we were writing it that I was thinking of her… I sat with it for a couple months and sent it back to her, and it was so glaringly obvious. It’s so easy for me to listen to because I can hear her in it, and I think we wrote that line to...
