New Text Document (Scene 4)

My name is Adriel Rivera, I am 16 years old and feel... hopeless? I don't know, having an existential crisis is weird.

I'm feeling a lot better now. But, just the concept of life is something so hard to grasp. Why are we here? What is our purpose? And why are we confined by time? We're essentially born to die, and that realization of death haunts me.

When I was little, I was terrified of oblivion, and literally cried at the thought of being alone and leaving the conscious world behind me.

Those thoughts came back and I feel scared. Who put us here? And, if someone did, why would they leave us longing for eternity, just to chain us to a countdown?

I tried to find answers in praying; some sign that I'm not alone and I'll be okay. But nothing was given. Maybe I'm too ignorant to see the truth... or maybe the truth is that there's nothing there. Either way, these questions make everything feel unreal.

I go through the regular emotions of my day, but I constantly feel on panic, like there's some impending doom just waiting to happen
But at the same time, I don't feel like I'm there. It's like I'm stuck behind a TV screen, and I'm just watching my life play out. I'm not part of any of it! It's not real... But it is.

My dad noticed I looked off and, after nudging me a while, I cried to my parents about how I felt. We had a talk that I really needed to get me feeling like I control my life again. And, as of now, I still have those questions.

But they are okay to be left unanswered. In my dad's words, "You were put on this Earth for a purpose, and I think that's something you always need to keep in mind. You have a gift, and your purpose is to find that gift and share it with the world; 'death' is something that haunts everyone. But 'life' is what you're experiencing now. You will live and enjoy your life to the best of your ability, along with the people that were put in it to love you. You're here. You're alive."
