Message From Central Cocoon Annotated

Wow!
Yeah, Charlie, we got a little tape here at the end. This entire collection is unreleased material, about 90% of it I've been working on since last May. The song called "All" is on the Vertical Slit CD, "Twisted Steel," and the song, "Gray suit gets crushed," that's on the 500 copy single that you saw that I dropped off, went off to Klaus, and I'm going to send you a copy and a tape to accompany it soon. Hope everything is going well. I got your recent letter. I understand your situation, and it doesn't sound real healthy. I think if you had a backer for your poetry books, you'd have more spending money.
Hahaha
Sorry, I wasn't trying to poke humor at that situation, but I know how it is. You know, they've got, our creativity and our art force has us by the throat, and we have to keep continuing working really hard. I mean, I haven't been in a relationship for a while and I try to explain it to people, and they don't understand it, but it's like, I got off work Friday at 12 o'clock, 12:30, and I've been working for three solid days straight, mixing all this stuff down and working on my craft. It was Sunday afternoon and I pictured myself having lunch with some woman somewhere and then trying to please this person and so, "what do you want to do now?" That whole thing, you know, and we have to do our work, and we have to do it, you know, like we have six months left to live, you know, we have to work hard at it, and you know, as long as it's going to come flowing out of us, we have to capture it. Unfortunately, I could be writing a lot more about my life and everything and things that people say. I have a good memory. I remember most of it and I have a couple books I want to do and one of them is basically the story of my life and all the fabulous people I've met, and you'll be shocked when you read a lot of this stuff. It's amazing. It's really good, and I have to get back on that. I did start it a long time ago. Life's a funny monkey, you know. I try to hold it all together myself, you know. You know, it's hard to survive on the kind of wages they pay, but my friend, we have to do it. We have to figure out a way to make the shit all happen and hold it all together. It's unfortunate. I should have some money coming down the pipe. If there's any way I can help you do a little printing or something, we can talk about that. Whatever, you know, I'm here to help you out and this tape I'm sending you, no one in the world has this collection, Charlie, and you have it. Just don't make any copies of it at all unless I tell you, you know, it's okay, because a lot of this stuff is going to be on the next couple albums I put out. I'm thinking about you and stay in touch. Anytime you want to write me a letter, feel free. I love receiving them. Take care. I think I'm about out of tape.
