13:38: Are you ready to find out who's going to meet Germany in the finals? Good, you've come to the right place!
16:03: A couple of selection shocks: De Jong is fit and Gago remains out.
16:12: It's just hit me that there'll only be two more chances to do this following today. Have to make the most of it...predictions?
16:32: In an unexpected turn of events, ITV are using Sway's "Level Up" in their build up video package.
16:56: You'll never be as cool as this guy. Ever.
17:05: Apologies for the delay, we're underway!
17:08: Mind games in the tunnel prior to kick off?
17:11: Adidas coming through with some interesting stats about Messi and Robben.
17:12: Has Demichelis had a hair cut?
17:15: Messi with a powerful free kick, but Cillessen is equal to it! Best chance of the match so far.
17:16: Lets take a look at how closely De Jong is marking Messi.
17:17: The Dutch fans need to control their confetti.
17:23: After yesterday's fireworks display, we find ourselves disappointed that no goals have been scored yet.
17:24: Prior to kick off there was a remembrance for the great Alfredo Di Stefano.
17:25: Garay gets down low and gets his head to it, but it isn't enough to direct it to goal.
17:26: This is a tense affair, you wouldn't rule out either team opening the scoring at any time.
17:27: There's a collision here between Javier Mascherano and Wijnaldum, and Mascherano is down, and it doesn't look good.
17:28: Van Persie won't be too happy with his early influence so far.
17:30: Mascherano is back on, and good to continue!
17:31: Messi & Robben aren't living up to their hype so far, but Jasper Cillessen is keeping us entertained!
17:33: This time yesterday, the score was 5-0.
17:38: Earlier in the tournament we had footballer/rapper lookalikes, now we have our first edition of footballer/celebrity lookalikes!
17:54: We ended the first half with a stalemate. Who can break the deadlock? Are we going to see penalties? Why am I asking a website rhetorical questions?
18:03: While we're waiting for the teams to make their way to the pitch, I've just found a fan that would make MrXercules proud!
18:06: and we're off again!
18:07: Some late half-time thoughts from Wandawaisu...
18:26: The lack of updates should tell you that not much has happened...
18:36: Higuain scores! But it's offside...still 0-0 then.
18:40: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!
18:41: I'm sorry, that was mean - there's no goal. Aguero's coming on though, maybe we'll see something soon?
18:50: Robben spurns a chance 90' in - Mascherano with a brilliant challenge to put a stop to his run.
19:01: I've left it too long again, haven't I? I'm genuinely sorry if I've disappointed any parents out there, it won't happen again. We're a few minutes into extra time. Still no goals. I'm tired.
19:15: The game has livened up a bit, and just in time - the first half of extra time draws to a close; 15 minutes to find a winner!
19:18: We're back! Three minutes between updates, brilliant stuff. Not much happening, on ITV we're getting some Cillessen highlights by the looks of things. Never saved a penalty - hopefully he'll fix up for the shootout!
19:27: Van Gaal doesn't look happy at all...
19:28: Palacio has a great chance...but LvG has a reason to smile now - a great save from Cillessen!
19:34: Woaaaaaah, a strong end to a goalless match - we still can't separate the sides! Penalties it is!
19:39: Up first for the Netherlands...Ron Vlaar?!
19:40: It's saved...
19:41: Messi...scores! 0-1 Argentina.
19:41: Robben with the instant reply - 1-1!
19:42: Garay steps up...back of the net! 1-2 to the Argentine side.
19:43: Sneijder's shot is saved - it's looking bleak as it remains 1-2!
19:44: Aguero piles on the pressure as he scores their third to make it 1-3.
19:44: Kuyt puts it in to keep the dream alive! 2-3.
19:45: Match point - Cillessen gets gloves to it, but still hasn't saved a penalty as Maxi Rodriguez blasts it home! It's all over; Argentina will meet Germany in the finals!
19:47: Apologies for the sporadic updates this evening, though in fairness, nothing really happened this match. Two matches to go - Brazil will take on the Netherlands to determine our third place team before Germany meet Argentina to see who picks up football's biggest prize! I'd say that's all from us - goodnight!
19:57: Wait, one more thing... and another thing as well.
