Live Blogging the World Cup: Belgium 2-1 Algeria

12:12: Under an hour to go until we kick off! I'm not sure how popular this one is going to be, but I'll be around anyway - looking forward to this one!

12:16: Spurs are representing today!

12:45: Oh yeah. It's usually about this time I ask for your predictions. What are we saying?

12:50: Andros Townsend with Chiles and co. too!

12:54: National anthems underway. Belgium are spit between French and Dutch lyrics - they still managed to pull it off!

1:00: Here we go!

1:03: The literal strength of the Belgian players is showing even at this early stage, very hard to get off the ball.

1:04: Witsel's hair is on point. Of course.

1:07: Hazard going down fairly easily so far...

1:12: Nothing of note so far. I've got to say, I wasn't expecting this to start so slowly...

1:20: Finally it comes to life a little! Witsel smashes it from range, knocking the Algerian keeper Mbolhi off his feet.

1:23: Vertonghen gives away a penalty! This could completely destroy my prediction this early!

1:24: Feghouli puts it past Courtois - Algeria are one up!

1:29: Tremendous run from Hazard ends with a free kick after being fouled by Taïder.

1:31: Dembélé's arm catches Bentaleb. I cry inside.

1:33: Bentaleb booked for a bit of roughness with Dembélé. Please don't do this to me.

1:44: This is more like it from the Red Devils - Algeria will be eagerly waiting for the half time whistle.

1:47: There it is. We go into the half with a surprise scoreline, as Algeria lead 1-0.

2:01: Mertens comes on for Chadli, we're underway with the second half.

2:05: Witsel couldn't react quick enough to that corner.

2:10: Algeria almost make it 2-0!

2:15: Things have livened up a little this half, though the scores remain the same. Lukaku is off too, surprisingly.

2:20: Great Save by the Algerian goalkeeper to deny Origi.

2:26: Fellaini comes on and level things up! Belgium have 20 minutes to grab the win!

2:35: A brilliant run from Hazard, a shot from Mertens and Belgium are on course to win it! You've got to feel for the Algerian side here though.

2:39: And it's almost 3-1. Fellaini's bullet header is brilliantly tipped over the bar.

3:01: It's all over! Belgium get their expected win, but it's much more difficult than most anticipated! That's all from us for now!
