[Intro]
"Just have to drink my nice tea. So I've got, kind of, 3 b-sidey things which, um, which I used to play when I was- the reason why I'm doing it like this, 'cause when I... well (a) 'cause I couldn't be bothered to get all my stuff out, basically, and I thought it would sound nice to- 'cause I've never done iMegaphone like this in the UK. I used to have a band - which I loved, I loved my band - in fact, Leo's here. Is Leo's here? Yes! Leo's here. Leo's my guitarist. He's so nice, he's nice. And he introduced me to James, actually. Aw, full circles. And, anyway, we had this great band and then my crappy record company said 'You can't take your band to America, it's too expensive' and so I had to go on my own on the piano and I'd never done that before and I was absolutely kakking myself 'cause I had to suddenly, like, rearrange things and I wasn't used to being on stage in front of, you know, people hearing- having heard a record of mine, and so I was a bit scared. But I tried my best and so basically the way I'm playing it now is pretty much the way I used to play it, I haven't updated it. Well, I have a little bit. I've got slightly better at playing, I'd like to think. But it's pretty much the same, because I wanted it to feel authentic, you see. So was is a song I wrote around this time, and it's called 'Leave Me to Love' and I always really, really enjoyed playing it, and I... I think I recorded it... yeah, I did. Anyway, here it is. It's quite difficult, so... if I get it wrong..."
[Verse 1]
Complications, more so I can say
Promises and deadlines make it hard to stay away
All these strings are attaching to me
And I can't find the scissors, yeah
[Verse 2]
All in the tanker then, we're back in a knot
I can't remember where I was, I've forgotten
Knitting it all, these holes I don't need
To crawl through a brick wall, it's hard to say the least
[Pre-Chorus]
Where's that thought, that thought uncomplicated things?
Where's that peace of mind, that peace that made it easy?
Where's that simple day, that simply made it nice to be in
Where did it go? Where did it go? Where did it go?
[Chorus]
Leave me to love
Gotta leave me here to love
Leave me here to love
Leave me here to love
[Verse 3]
Natural micro light, tell me, what can you see?
A huge cloud of shit, hanging over me
Can you blow it somewhere else?
It making it hell to distinguish myself
[Verse 4]
Tired of the tyrants who only think they're bee's knee's
Pissed with their patience who constantly agree
Yes sir, yes sir, three hundred bags full
It easier to say yeah than to say no to a fool
[Pre-Chorus]
Where's that thought, that thought uncomplicated things?
Where's that peace of mind, that peace that made it easy?
Where's that simple day, that simply made it nice to be in
Where did it go? Where did it go? Where did it go?
[Chorus]
Leave me to love
Leave me here to love
Leave me here to love
Leave me here to love
[Bridge]
Cover me in cyanide, cover me in ink
Cover me in formaldehyde then leave me here to think
Cover me in carpet, cover me in tile
Cover me in everything and put me in a file
Strip me bare bone, let me breathe, strip me to my skin
Strip me so you can watch me bleed off all these things I've been in
Strip me naked of these walls, strip me of my rules
Strip me poor and see how small I am without the jewels
Inseminate the natural, inseminate the dirt
Inseminate the in-factual and leave me here to love
Inseminate the natural, inseminate the dirt
Inseminate the in-factual and leave me here to love
[Chorus]
Leave me to love
Leave me here to love
Leave me here to love
Leave me here to love
[Pre-Chorus]
Where's that thought, that thought uncomplicated things?
Where's that peace of mind, that peace that made it easy?
Where's that simple day, that simply made it nice to be in
Where did it go? Where did it go? Where did it go?
[Interlude]
[Outro]
Just leave me here to love
