I've been on a journey now
Since I was a child
And somehow thought my life
Was all my own
My final destination
Never seemed to cross my mind
And others didn't matter much
Oh, they bored me with their lies
And I was too intent
On gaining all that caught my eye
And so, I journeyed on
Even though I was alone
I was told that traveling
Would drain me from within
My emptiness would show itself in time
But I would faintly smile
And then gamely carry on
Forgetting that I'd often failed
In choosing what was best
And that I'd often heard a voice
Urging me to rest
Still, I journeyеd on
Feeling far from strong
Then someone spokе
When I least expected
"Follow Me, follow Me home"
(Come follow Me home)
Clear and distinct
And the change was certain
A blind man started to see
Oh, now my body's agin'
But I feel like such a child
I guess you could say
I've lived and learned
I've learned that I can't walk that road
By looking at myself
And so, I'll put my eyes on Him
He's never failed me yet
I'd still be wandering aimlessly
If we had never met
And so, I journey on
No longer walkin' on
And life, life won't seem so long
With Jesus
(Yes, with my Jesus)
Jesus
