Cactus Jack and Terry Funk were supposed to have teamed up against the NWA ECW Tag Team Champions The Public Enemy at ECW’s August 27, 1994 event but Funk no-showed. Cactus found Mikey Whipwreck and they managed to defeat TPE for the belts.
CACTUS JACK: "Mikey, I told you I was going to take you under my wing. So here's a lesson for today. Don't you ever, EVER confuse the words 'Cactus Jack' AND GREATNESS! Because I ain't great. I got the World Tag Team Championship, IT DON'T MAKE US GREAT! You wear the World Tag Team Championship, and Mikey, I'm sorry to break it to you, YOU'RE NOT ALL THAT GREAT! The Public Enemy is GREAT! But that night in Philadelphia, maybe we were just a little lucky, or maybe destiny was looking at us in the eye, but either way we walked out with the straps, and now they're strapless! And now they're mad. Sting got mad at me once!"
MIKEY WHIPWRECK: "He knocked your teeth out."
CACTUS JACK: "BANG BANG! Vader got mad at me once!"
MIKEY WHIPWRECK: (nervous) "He ripped your ear off!"
CACTUS JACK: "BANG BANG! And you know what I say? THANK YOU! Because you look at this face, you look at this ear and you look at this teeth and you look at the history of professional wrestling, Mikey. They're all here. From Abdullah to Zbyszko, the A to Z of professional wrestling, THEY'VE ALL MADE THEIR MARK! So I say Public Enemy, SHOW ME JUST HOW GREAT YOU ARE! MAKE YOUR MARK ON THE FACE OF CACTUS JACK, AND YOU WILL LIVE IN INFAMY FOREVER! Mikey, The Public Enemy is real real mad, you know what that means?
MIKEY WHIPWRECK: "It means I'm gonna die!"
CACTUS JACK: "He likes it! Mikey really, really likes it! And Public Enemy, bang bang, he's gonna prove it to you!"
