Eclosion: Rise of the Imago Predator

It was plain to see what was going to transpire as the twitching became more violent
We barely had the time before we were caught in the act of collective mourning
Is it a gift to look into the eyes of fate and welcome its grasp
Or is it better to not even hear it approaching?
The shell is cracking
The desperate turn to hiding as the pupa shed their coating
It will take more to quell their thirst as they enter the next stage
Their organs dissolved and recycled for a new purpose
The imaginal discs get to work in the protein soup
Your god's hideous creation, forever living on weak knees
These heavens of torture, skies are pitch black with the plague of death
Your lungs turn to dust, your god disintegrating, we die slowly
In the breeding of a new killer; the Imago Predator
So the buds formed to flourish and carry the expansion
Of the most gratuitous horrors to erase man
However long we could have waited, the cavity came all too soon
The claws emerge and start pulling through the winged beasts
They seem unbothered by their terrified spectators
Their tender sections still completely impervious to any of our resistance
Their form now has escaped, the veins pour rich
As the full span is realized and then each turns to gaze
