I was born and raised in Boston
A city you all know well
Raised up by honest parent

'Til I became a burglar

They arrested me in Birmingham
Taken me to Charleston Jail
And there I lay for months and months
No one to go my bail

The jury found me guilty

The judge, he passed my sentence
