When I Felt Giving

Looking down at what I’ve lost
And what I’m not receiving
The sun shines down upon all I’ve ever given

But I can’t even find an ounce left
To remember what it was I felt when I felt giving
I tried to give you something
But I took it instead
Something I didn’t want or even know that I had

I have watched you face in every direction but this way
