The road forked before me
Left: long, black
Right: sanctuary
The softest softness stretching
Held up against how I’ve been living

Here’s that sound I know
The yearning of the crow for his foreboding
Arrival to be joyful

I reached out and touched peace
How she spread through my whole body
Humming light, gentle subtleties
But at last I had to draw away

The ringing of the street resonates with me
My shoulders only know how to bear the weight of
