WHAT DEV MEANT TO SAY - poem

I don′t write for you
I write for what my soul can no longer hold
And humans are a little bit narcissistic
So before you switch to the next track
I don't mean for that to sound like I′m bitin' you in the back, rah
Or like feelings are somethin' that I lack, no, in fact
Feelings are somethin′ that I have in surplus
So much so that I′ve gotta have a way
To free the voices among us
So I write, and I write, and I write
And I write in surplus
These intrusions can't also be distortions
Havin′ these conversations on a page is a must
And they kind of sound pretty
When they're comin′ out one by one
And so these thoughts that used to claw at each other
Give way on a page
Letters clung together
Leanin', containin′ rage but together
So it kind of sounds like faith
Faith sprung from a mind that spun
Left spewin' sickly thoughts
That have somehow been caught
Wiped and turned into recreational fun
Calmin' poems that used to be thoughts on the run
