Coloured in half a line, spilled half a tray of paint

Can I offer my canvas to you?
My knight in rusting armour
Somewhere between the folds you decided I was sublime
A fine line between heaven and real time
Choosing to see the fragile image on stained-glass windows is what you would rather
To perceive fragile and desire to notice only the gorgeous
Losing sight of the thorns pressing through the window drawing
Disguising the vines that confuse
Strangling my pretty picture with coddling
Attempting to blend in the violence
With selected shades of violet
To keep honesty silent
And your rusting armour shining
Come back to life
Fires burn hotter when you're distracted by its glow
I don′t wish you wrong
So next time approach with caution
Steady and slow
And maybe we'll both notice when the room's scorching
Images melting from our true embers boiling
Rather than passion sparking from masks up
Rather than veils down
Now the picture′s contorted
And it′s always he did, never he does
From beautiful pictures of my knight shining
Rather than genuine exhibitions of your rusting armour
