Saw her walking down a country road
For a long time looking lonesome
I contemplated giving her a ride
I decided just to watch her
Her dress it moved with the wind
The sun accented freckles on her skin
And I wonder where she’s going
I picture her wandering and looking for me
And asking anyone if they have seen me
And once the sun has set
And we finally have met
I’ll know if she was right or she was wrong
I saw her walking my dream last night
Very patiently in the sunset
This time I did offer her a ride
And she came with me from then on
And her hair it moved with the wind
Her hand it wandered over to my skin
And I wondered where she’d been so long
I picture her wandering and looking for me
And asking anyone if they have seen me
And once the sun has set
And we finally have met
I’ll know if she was right or she was wrong
The morning came on quickly as the night
And I drove back down the road that she had walked
I left my car in the dust and wandered off
For a long time looking lonesome
And my hair it moved with the wind
And the sunrise warmed the freckles on my skin
And I wondered where she is
And I see myself wandering and looking for her
And asking anyone if they had seen her
And once the sun has set
And we finally have met
I’ll know if I was right or I was wrong
(I was wrong)
