[Verse 1]
There's a big detour down Third Street
So I had to drive up yours
And I flipped your house a bird
Squealed the tires and honked the horn
Met my buddies at some new joint
Where I've never drank before
This place ain't up my alley, nah
But, girl, it's right up yours
[Chorus]
Of all the songs the band can play
There they go crankin' up yours
Ran into your friend, old what's-her-name
She keeps bringin' up yours
Let it rain, I pour
You ain't mine no more
I thought whiskey's supposed to drown a memory
But it just keeps on stirrin' up yours
[Verse 2]
I know you ain't got a tab in here
But if you did I'd run up yours
I probably shoulda stayеd at home
With a cold six-pack of Coors
'Cause the morе I drink, the more I think
About what I'm drinkin' for
Yeah, I'm just tryin' to keep my phone
From callin' up yours
[Chorus]
Of all the songs the band can play
There they go crankin' up yours
Ran into your friend, old what's-her-name
She keeps bringin' up yours
Let it rain, I pour
You ain't mine no more
I thought whiskey's supposed to drown a memory
But it just keeps on stirrin' up yours
[Post-Chorus]
Up yours
[Bridge]
These days, you're messin' up all my nights
I wonder if I'm messin' up yours
These days, you're messin' up all my nights
I hope I'm messin' up yours
(Up yours)
[Chorus]
Of all the songs the band can play
There they go crankin' up yours
Ran into your friend, old what's-her-name
She keeps bringin' up yours
Let it rain, I pour
You ain't mine no more
I thought whiskey's supposed to drown a memory
But it just keeps on stirrin' up yours
[Outro]
I hope I'm messin' up yours
Up yours
Up Yours was written by Ben Stennis & John Pierce & Lee Thomas Miller.
Up Yours was produced by Jacob Rice.
Trey Lewis released Up Yours on Fri May 05 2023.
I really like the play on words and the cleverness of it all.
Jacob Rice (my producer) really captured the energy of the song. The music video is also next level for me. I hope people enjoy it and have a good time listening.
There are two that come to mind. “I’m just trying to keep my phone from calling up yours” and “Ran into your friend ole what’s her name” because it plays on some of the songs I’ve put out in the past – my ex, how bout we don’t, and DDID.
