“Too Sad” is the sixth track of Ex:Re’s self tilted debut album. It’s a song about missing someone after a relationship has ended. The narrator is so deep in this sorrow that she’s not able to go back to the life she used to have.
[Verse 1]
It's over the house
I can't stop it growing
It's over my road
Each lamp post
Memories follow me
He will, he will, he will
You know, you know
He will, he will, he will
[Pre-Chorus 1]
Those dusty amulets
Records and regrets
I cannot re-adjust
Into the life before I loved you
[Chorus]
I see our fingerprints on household things
I'm too sad to touch
I feel your skin on human beings
I'm too sad to fuck
[Verse 2]
If I could write you back here
It would be my best work
If I could write you back here
It would be my best work
[Pre-Chorus 2]
I can't re-adjust
Into the life before I met you
I can't re-adjust
I just want to forget you (to forget you)
[Chorus]
I see your fingerprints on household things
I'm just too sad to touch
I feel your skin on human beings
I'm too sad to fuck
[Bridge]
To forget you (ooh, ooh)
To forget you
To forget you
To forget you
[Outro]
It's over the house
I can't stop it growing
It's over my road
Hides behind each lamp post
He will, he will, he will
You know, you know
He will, he will, he will
You know, you know
He will, he will, he will
You know, you know
He will, he will, he will, he will

Some of the songs are quite angry, and there are the phases and the stages of getting past it. I guess it’s those moments when you’re heartbroken, and how you react to them… ‘Too Sad’ was just [me] utterly devastated, but the songs that I prefer the most are the one that have a bit more fire.
