Founder and frontwoman of the British indie folk group Daughter, Elena Tonra (born January 15, 1990) began her career by performing acoustic gigs at several London venues and went on to study songwriting at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance.

In 2018 Elena released her solo debut project under the name of Ex:Re, pronounced ex ray, the self-titled album was released on 30th of November, the project was announced on 26th of November via Daughter’s social media with the release of the lead single “Romance”.
