Throwin' Shade is another song on Kalie Shorr’s debut EP. It describes the relationship between Kalie an a girl who’s trying to get involved with her ex. Said girl isn’t mature at all, and is always “throwin' shade” at Kalie, which she chooses to ignore (aside from writing this song about it).
Iʼm just trying to catch a buzz
Mindinʼ my own little solo cup
When little miss tryna kill my vibe walks by
Well she wonʼt say nothinʼ to my face
But those sideways glances give it away
Ainʼt no way Iʼm gonna play that game tonight
If you ainʼt got nothinʼ nice to say
Hey thatʼs okay
[Chorus]
Keep on throwinʼ that shade
Little lady
Sticks and stones might break my bones
But that hate ainʼt ever gonna phase me
You stay petty, I keep gettinʼ better
Iʼll still be shining when you fade away
So keep on throwinʼ that shade
She been all night hanging all over my ex
Trying to fire me up but I couldnʼt care less
If I wanted that mess, I never woulda let him go
What goes around comes back around
He ainʼt my problem now
[Chorus]
Keep on throwinʼ that shade
Little lady
Sticks and stones might break my bones
But that hate ainʼt ever gonna phase me
You stay petty, I keep gettinʼ better
Iʼll still be shining when you fade away
So keep on throwinʼ that shade
If youʼre trying to get underneath my skin
You ainʼt gonna win
[Chorus]
Keep on throwinʼ that shade
Little lady
Sticks and stones might break my bones
But that hate ainʼt ever gonna phase me
You stay petty, I keep gettinʼ better
Iʼll still be shining when you fade away
So keep on throwinʼ that shade
