“The Return of Mickey Milan” tells the story of a fictional pop star from a bygone era, who Palomo pleads to return to the limelight. The character’s name was taken from the real-life DJ Micky Milan, who helped to pioneer French disco and boogie in the ‘70s and '80s.
[Verse 1]
Mickey these days, what can I say?
He used to kill 'em in the top-down days
A wet dream weaver for the power pop believer
He keep 'em moving all night long
Shoulders and pearls, the cover girls of 1993
Memories now in a faded magazine
[Chorus]
(He's been) So outta sight, so outta sight
Step back into the limelight, M-M-M-Mickey Milan
(He's been) So outta sight, so outta sight
Has anybody seen him?
M-M-M-Mickey Milan
[Verse 2]
Quaalude blues and red Cabernet
Mickey's losing marbles every timе he plays
Now the golden oldiе's feelin' old and lonely
The station changed for the same old song
Shoulders and pearls, the cover girls of 1993
Just memories now in a faded magazine
[Chorus]
(He's been) So outta sight, so outta sight
Step back into the limelight, M-M-M-Mickey Milan
(He's been) So outta sight, so outta sight
Has anybody seen him?
M-M-M-Mickey Milan
(He's been) So outta sight, so outta sight
Step back into the limelight, M-M-M-Mickey Milan
[Outro]
You had the right idea, you just never wrote that "Ave Maria"
Signed sincerely, Mickey Milan
